Feature 01

What the Drawings module is and how drawings, versions, folders and pins relate

Drawings is the project's sheet library. Each sheet is processed so you can zoom into it, it lives in a folder, it keeps versions, and you can mark it up, measure, overlay it and link it to other modules.

Feature 02

Browse the library: search, filter, switch views and read the statuses

The library shows drawings grouped by folder, with search, a discipline filter and each drawing's processing status.

Feature 03

Upload one or more drawings (multi-page PDF, DWG or DXF)

The Upload drawing panel takes the files, uploads them and builds the batch of drawings to process.

Feature 04

Choose pages and set where to read the sheet number

After uploading the PDFs you choose which pages become drawings and tell the system where on the sheet the number is.

Feature 05

Confirm the detected number and name of each drawing

When a drawing finishes processing, the system proposes a sheet number and name. You review them and confirm the batch in one step.

Feature 06

Create a drawing folder

Drawing folders group sheets by discipline, stage or whatever the team decides.

Feature 07

Move drawings between folders and reorder folders

Select one or more drawings and send them to a folder or to No folder. Folders can be reordered.

Feature 08

Open a drawing and get around the viewer (zoom, navigation, shortcuts)

The viewer shows the drawing as tiles so you can zoom without losing sharpness, with tools on the left and the pin list on the right.

Feature 09

Edit a drawing's sheet number, name and description

You can fix a drawing's sheet number, name and description from the viewer without uploading it again.

Feature 10

Upload a new version of a drawing

When a sheet is revised, upload it with the same sheet number: the drawing keeps its history and the revision becomes the current one.

Feature 11

Version history: view, name, mark as current and delete

The Version control panel lists every version of a drawing and lets you open, compare, edit, mark as current or delete each one.

Feature 12

Compare one version with another

Comparison overlays two versions of the same drawing so you can see what changed. It uses the same panel as Overlay.

Feature 13

Overlay drawings from the library: select and open

From the library you pick up to 3 drawings: the first one you tick is the base and the others are overlaid on it.

Feature 14

The «Compare and overlay drawings» panel: layers, opacity and visibility

The panel overlays up to 3 drawings (the base and 2 layers) and lets you adjust each one's transparency and visibility.

Feature 15

Align an overlaid drawing (by hand, by values or by 2 points)

Drawings from different sources rarely match exactly. Alignment moves, scales and rotates an overlay until it fits the base.

Feature 16

Pins: types, side list, hiding and search

A pin marks a point on the drawing and links it to a task, RFI, quality control, submittal, note or hyperlink. They are all listed in a side panel.

Feature 17

Place a pin and create or link a task, RFI, quality control, submittal or note

With Add pin you choose the type, click the drawing and create a new record (or link an existing one) already tied to the drawing.

Feature 18

Open a pin and what happens in the other modules

Clicking a pin opens the linked record's detail without leaving the drawing.

Feature 19

Hyperlinks between drawings, images and files

A hyperlink is a clickable mark that takes you to another drawing, an image or a project file. The system also detects references automatically.

View feature and tutorial
Feature 20

Recalculate hyperlinks and see related drawings

Automatic hyperlinks come from the drawing's references matched against the project's sheet numbers. When numbers change, recalculate them.

Feature 21

Marking up the drawing: drawing, shapes, symbols, text, erase and select

The left bar tools draw on the drawing. What you draw is saved instantly and the rest of the team sees it.

Feature 22

Measure distances and set the scale

The Measure tool calculates the distance between two points. To get real metres you must set the drawing's scale first.

Feature 23

Share drawings or folders with another project

Sharing lets another project in the same organisation see the drawing, always at its current version, without duplicating files or pins.

Feature 24

Delete drawings and drawing folders

You can delete drawings one by one or several at once, and delete folders without losing the drawings inside.

Feature 25

Reprocess a drawing

If a drawing fails to process or looks wrong, you can rebuild its view from the original PDF.

View feature and tutorial
Feature 26

Set the project's title block zone

The title block zone tells the system where to read the sheet number on new drawings. It is saved for the whole project.

View feature and tutorial
Feature 27

Link a 3D model to the drawing

A drawing can be linked to a 3D or CAD model (RVT, DWG, IFC, NWD or NWC) already uploaded to the project's Files.

Feature 28

Who can do what: permissions, current version and shared drawings

Which buttons work depends on your permission in the project, whether the open version is the current one and whether the drawing is yours or shared.
